Yasha Spriha
PhD Candidate of Organizational Behavior
Robert H. Smith School of Business, University of Maryland
Welcome!
I am Yasha Spriha, a fifth year PhD Candidate at the R. H. Smith School of Business, University of Maryland. Through my research, I aim to help organizations create inclusive workspaces where all employees, especially those on the margins, feel seen, respected, valued, and motivated to voice their ideas and drive change.
In my research, I focus on employee voice and silence. It emphasizes the significance of voice in organizations and how practices within organizations impact it. I also study when and why employees speak up within organizations and what makes them effective in influencing change.
My research also explores socio-economic and socio-metric status. In a time when upward socio-economic mobility is more arduous than before, my research focuses on how organizations can better include employees who come from low socio-economic backgrounds. I also study how individuals strive for respect and admiration at work and how it impacts their work outcomes.
Prior to the PhD, I earned my Master of Science in Human Resources and Organizations with a focus on International Employment Relations from the London School of Economics and Political Science and a Bachelors in Arts with honors with a focus on English Literature from Lady Shri Ram College for Women, Delhi University.
I am on the job market in 2024.
